grateful I am

Over the Mexican Gulf I flew

above the water blue

I'm grateful to stand in the land of the free

a gift that my people wish they'd see

grateful I am to be  able to watch

the western sky glow

while my people wish for night to slow

I'm grateful to walk in the land of dreams

the land where so many people take for granted and don't see the streams

where if my people had the same opportunities

they would graduate from the best universities

your fancy clothes, your expensive hat, your pretty bun

in my country would melt in the sun.

So many people ask for miracles

But every day they are engage with miracles

They don't recognize that walking

On this beautiful concrete is a gift.

Ohile my people still walk above dirt and wish for a shift

I am grateful to be in the land of the free

The place of dreams

Where  trees can grow on streams.

People often say that words are often powerful, so I'm deciding to put my words up for everyone to see and hopefully my style/themes can inspire some people, hopefully i can make people think about my writing. Specially people that are concerned about equality, racism, poverty.....
