The Grateful Mistake
For the person this may concern
Tear stains down my face
Having that familiar salty taste
There's nothing more I can do
Then wait until I get over you
The marks on my knuckles
And the scars on my heart
Who knew you'd be the one to tear me apart
As you look at her, I look at you thinking
What more could I do
You say you hate your smile, I do too
It only makes me fall more in love with you
Now two years have gone by
You no longer seem to catch my eye
You beg and beg right before I stand
you wish for me to take your hand
I don't mean to be rude
I don't want to misconstrue
You say I'm dumb to let you flee
But I'm smart enough to know you are not the one for me
