A Grave of Lies

The hardest part about being me,
and the one flaw I struggle with most,
is the need to make everyone happy.

Sometimes I lie to lessen the blow,
because what's a little pain compared to a lot,
but every time I lie I eventually let the truth show.

My lie digs me into the ground,
digging deeper with each,
until I'm six feet under and no where to be found.

I hide the truth for the sake of others,
I fear hurting their feelings,
so before I think one lie turns into another.

Eventually the trust is told but not before
I dig a grave of lies for fear of how my actions will affect another,
this flaw has caused me
relationships,
friendships,
and the one I'm hurting the most is me.
