Gravitational Fate

Gravity is bound to make it fall

But I grasp upon its core hoping, hoping

Perhaps it can remain

Stay in the present

Float like stars

Never losing  its place

But no, it will fall

This apple will play with gravity

There is no choice to be made

But I will grasp upon its core

Grasp upon it until the laws of Physics take it away

Away like a child’s toy

Or maybe it was chosen

Chosen to be thrown away

For maturity no longer desires the simple pleasure

Met by a toy

But the memory is there

That must count for something

I saw the apple

I once held the apple

I still hold the apple

But the day approaches that it will wither away

And I no longer will possess its sweet youth

But remember its beauty
