Gray

I've run away so many times, pushed Your arms out of my way. I didn't want to listen, I didn't want to hear the words You'd say. But I'm empty and alone out here. The world's all painted gray. There's nothing here to live for. Oh, why did I walk away? I forgot what I was made for. Made to praise, not just to breath. I was made to bring You glory, made to fight down on my knees. In You I had a purpose, with You I knew the way. Your words never made me wonder. I never lived in shades of gray. If I turn back now, will You accept me? Or will You send me on my way? Does Your grace extend to those who've turned and gone astray? Then I see your arms outstretched, compassion in Your face. "I will always love you, child. You shall always have my grace." Your fire builds me up again. Your passion sends me forth. With purpose found and love anew I will make the journey north.
