The Great Ascent

 Echo, Repeat, Echo
At the ledge of the valley
I scream, I plead, I yell
but my words return to me void
I keep on searching

Climb, Ascend, Climb
At the mountain bottom
I scratch, I kick, I crawl
I reach the mountain peak but its not there
I keep on searching

Rustling, Blowing, Rustling
At the depths of the forest
I navigate, I listen, I search
but the farther I go I realize it must be hidden
I keep on searching

Crash, Slam, Crash
At the edge of the sea, watching the waves
I pilot, I plan, I plot
but the waves are relentless and do not stop
I keep on searching

Blistering, Baking, Burning
In the heat of desert
I strive, I stress, I struggle
but the heat is remorseless
I keep on searching

Horns, Lights, Noise
In the mist of the large downtown city
I direct, I maneuver, I drive
but the demands are never ending
I keep on searching

Awaken, Alert, Awaken
In the mirror I stand
I glare, I stare, I am finally aware
and realize the answer is right there
Happiness.......is found, He lives in me!
