My Poem
A Great Man Born!!!!!!!!!!!
You’re the best man ever born. You’re the man every man should want to be. Even though we all know how you like to be free. You’re the man every little girl hopes for in a father. I have to say yes I am that little girl. You’re great in so many ways.
You’re funny too. You make me happier than a summer morning. You make laugh more than a bad joke. You make me smile like a winter day. Granddaddy you’re my favorite person. Most of all your my inspiration, all because your stronger than most. We have shared our cries but most of all we have shared our lives. Calling me your little baby warmed my heart and gave me no worries. Out of all your grandkids you knew I struggled the most.
I loved when you sing your old time songs; it let me know what was really going on. I liked to hear your laugh it was my greatest joy of all. Before you leave I want you to know my deepest fear wasn’t that I wouldn’t succeed but that I wouldn’t be loved. You helped me face my fear and realize what love is and what obstacles come with love.
And most of all you showed me that you care. One thing I ask of you from today is to come back and visit even though I know you can’t stay. You were an amazing man. Today you leave behind your wife, kids, grandkids, and great grandkids but that’s ok. We know you’re here with us each and every day. So goodbye and see you soon. You truly are a great man born.
