The Great Shelf

In a world far from our own

Core made of metal and the crust of stone

Hard, rough and rugged

Even though it was flooded

Lined with mountains so high

That they almost touched the sky

When a great tremor came

One that got a bunch fame

Crumbled the mountain and spilled the sea

The planet cried out with glee

Although it ruined itself

It made a crater that looked like a shelf

In the world far from our own.
