Greater

The pen to the pad, is both my greatest strength, and weakness. The words that I speak can both uplift, and defeat. The thoughts that I keep are flushed out by the music that I listen to. Oh, but when the batteries go dead and the thoughts feel my head, and my hand moves faster, on the padby the pen to reveal the thoughts that are within. A period is there, And a new day begins. New thoughts emerge. New actions are done. That may be looked down upon my some, But will inspire a new generation to become.... Become what out mothers, and grandmothers, and aunts, and foster mothers. Become more that what we see that floods the news. More funding for prisons, than there is for a college education, but yet they wonder why these people in my generation. hey wonder why.. They as in T. H. E. Y. They as in all of the negativity. They as in the corrupt politicians. They wonder why we still try. We are a generation of believers, A generation of thinkers of bright minds Of beauty , that is beyond skin deep. I will be someone some day, even if today I cant afford college. I will be some one today, even if today, I am worried about tomorrow. I will be someone one day that will inspire a generation of Bright minds to stand up and become what they say we cant. Do what they think we cant. And be what we know we can be. Be greater than what we think. Be exactly what out mothers know we can be.
