For the Greater Good
The sirens scream, the night turns cold,
A story of sacrifice, a tale untold.
In shadows deep where heroes tread,
One stands alone, their blood to shed.
The fight was fought, the battle grim,
The odds were stacked, all hope grew dim.
Yet there he stood, a fire alight,
To shield the weak, to stand and fight.
A broken boy with a jagged past,
Running from ghosts that held him fast.
But in this moment, he’d make it right,
By stepping into the fading light.
The streets are loud, the gunfire roars,
A life laid bare, his soul implores—
“Let this be the end of pain,
May my loss not be in vain.”
His heart beats wild, his breath turns thin,
Yet there's no regret for the fight within.
For he knows in death, a truth he’s shown:
To save a life, he gives his own.
And as he falls, the world takes pause,
The stars bow down to mourn the cause.
A fleeting flame, now cold and still,
A hero lost, but not the will.
In the quiet, his name will stay,
A whispered prayer, a brighter day.
For though he’s gone, his sacrifice shines,
A love eternal, across the lines.
