A Greater Sum

Numbers make sense
I may not really know much
But I can be sure 1+1=2
Every time.
But if you switch 1 to me
And 1 to you
Then it's all mixed up
And I get all confused
And at the end of it all
It looks like everything is
Muddled
But this I know:
1 + your smile= my heart beating fast
And 1 + your bad jokes means that I laugh
And this one thing holds true most of all:
Time spent - you = time wasted
And I know that I don't need to know
That you + me
Can be a mystery
That we solve along our way
That we can constantly discover
Something much greater
Than the sum of its parts
