Greatness in Diversity

 

Life is incredible,

Just take a look around,

there’s beautiful clouds in the sky,

cute, tiny bugs on the ground,

 

You can’t stop here though,

There’s so much more to view,

You may have to travel across oceans or seas,

I promise, you'll be glad when you do,

 

Are you serious? You’re leaving tomorrow?

Where are you going? Until when? How far?

Oh my, that’s extremely exciting,

Don’t forget, inform me up to par,

 

Now remember, you will come across many new people,

Entirely different from you,

Be sure to listen with an open mind,

And to not judge as you pass through,

 

Their ways of life may seem strange,

Or customs totally bizarre,

But just think of how you appear to them,

Coming across a sea so far,

 

It’s crazy to think that everyone’s just like you,

But entirely different in so many ways,

They all have families and friends, pets and jobs, 

They will probably approach you, then stop to gaze,

 

You can never escape the differences between all of us, 

But the differences are what makes life great,

Just imagine if we were all the same,

No diversity, no one comparably ornate,

 

Everyone with the same hair,

Many more having the same smile,

Everyone laughing in similar ways,

Oh wow, no one would have their own style,

 

The beautiful things in life are found within everyone,

If you hear otherwise, don’t listen to the misstate,

Just focus on the uniqueness in the world,

Because that’s what makes life so great
