Greed

Greed. It is the bane of the human race

Yet it stays

It dwells, it lingers

In our cities, countries

And in our world. But until the day

We must step over the dead

In our streets

Our eyes are closed to its evil.

Our eyes cannot disguise;

Greed ends thousands of lives

To maximize the wealth

Of One.

One after another the

Days of decadence

Grow and grind at the race that is our lives.

Power corrupts.

But power is just a horse

Galloping at the command of its master:

Greed. The mastermind of corruption.

If I could change one thing about

This world,

I would take the greed,

Lock it away and swallow the key.

I would set this world free

But I can’t.

We all feel greed, we all act on it.

Its cryptic control of our

Souls is a weapon we cannot

Hope to beat.

It will always live among us

Pillaging our promise

For a maximum profit.
