Greed

He was tall

a lean muscled form.

He smirked with  crooked grin.

In his eyes, a violet storm.

Though he was crass

I followed behind him,

compared to his wanting-

my needs seemed so dim.

He yearned for glory

for money, women, power.

He wanted everything.

From a soft bed to a golden tower,

I pitied him though

this ever-wanting man.

He took all he desired but,

so lonesome did he stand.

I think he found

at his very end.

That all he ever needed

was simply a friend.
