Green Eyes

My parents warned me to stay away from drugs, but never warned me

to stay away from the boy with green eyes and a heartbeat.

My friends warned me to stay away from players, but never warned

me to stay away from a boy who will sweep me off my feet.

God warned me to stay away from men who will hurt me, but

never warned me to stay away from a boy who was already hurt.

I warned myself not to fall in love, but how can I not fall in love with his

green eyes?

But one day, you'll forget my eye color, but I'll never forget yours.
