Green Leaves of Change

My heart and soul shined,

when I heard that prohibition had died.

No longer will the public be blind,

By the governments non-factual lies

Sons and daughters from families with little wealth,

Join a gang or sell drugs to support themselves.

Their parents receive a letter in the mail,

That there child is either dead or in jail,

all due to a system that has failed.

My eyes have witnessed this, true in fact

But they will no longer since the amendment has passed

The state has been hit by a tsunami

That will stimulate Colorado’s economy

Funded education, gang member emancipation

Due to jobs focused

On marijuana regulation
