Greet the Opportunity

My skin hits the frigid air

Long before the first crow,

Fueled by discipline, fully aware

That there is something new to know.

I leave my dreams of last night

For the goals of today,

Because when I dream I take flight,

But when I wake, I am grounded for the day.

The pale sky embraces me

As I head out the door.

I repeat this process daily

Just to know more, more, more.
