The Grievances of Geometry

Dear squares,

I am done with you.

I am tired of shoving myself in to meet your parameters.

Perfectionism is not real, no matter how often I try to tell myself.

I want to get a 'B' on a test and not feel ashamed,

I want to not be afraid to ask a boy out,

I want to fuck up, and then laugh.

Your box is enclosing my soul,

trapping it in ninety degree angles of agony.

I have decided to give you up.

I am throwing out my rulers,

Setting aside my straight-edges.

No more length x width,

no more conformity.

I am going to be free!

I am going to dance from treetops and float through the wind.

The ocean is going to carry me through life,

with its everchanging shape and imperfections.

Goodbye theorems,

Hello spontaneity!

I am going to laugh, cry, kiss, and regret.

But I am going to be 100% me,

and that is all I really need.

Love,

An inspiring squiggle
