Grieving

She's running from her problems She tries to sleep them away And maybe when she wakes up Reality will have changed Things keep getting harder Everyday is such a struggle Everyone around her Not one even bothered No words can comfort What only God can give All she ever wanted Was for her brother to live He was one of her best friends She was his very best "Don't cry anymore", they told her "Or in peace he'll never rest" After awhile she couldn't cry anymore At the funeral she was out of tears She always knew that his absence Was one of her biggest fears She used to carry his burdens Now only his memories she carries She always imagined his absence Would only be in the military She'd take his place if she could And God knows that she prayed for it But he never answered her prayers He just wouldn't allow it His laughter flows in the silence The one that brought so many smiles Whether you were next to him Or within two hundred miles Now he is with our creator Probably joking up a storm While down here we pray for him And try to help my parents mourn God is going to take care of him While he patiently awaits That someday we will join him As we are saved by our faith
