Grim America

Why can’t I believe the lies,

Be a child; just so ignorant.

Be told infamous lies

That hide the unspoken guilt.

In those mindless moments,

Even for just then,

Relish in obliviousness;

A cold pretense that will end.

For there is a tomorrow

And with that, lives sparred

Amongst lies that will be told,

forever welcoming

A desperate escape.

To end the grim days

Of an American.
