Grit Guides All

Deserted, dying, and damned, I’d choose my grit to get me through,

Neither object, nor person can settle the soul as well as inner peace can do,

With a little bit of grit, I’ll be my own North Star,

I’ll guide myself through stormy seas to earn a few more battle scars,

Grit reassures me that I am strong, that I will persevere,

With just a little grit, I’m unstoppable, my mind is clear,

If I were starving, grit would tell me to forage on for more,

If I were facing my inner demons, grit would make me settle the score,

Although the land I’m lost to is unforgiving, I’ll prove that I can do with less,

Because I have some grit, I’ll grin and bear it to rise above distress.
