The Groundwork of Poetic Hypnosis
Swing beats, be-pops, and bass lines
Breaking through paper
Breathing in life
Building off the groundwork of poetic hypnosis
When pencil meets guitar pick
And paper is the drum pad
Expression evolves to music
Only then does poetry sing
These lines are the beginning
They’re the base of my tune
A cliff to jump off of
Into an abyss of rhyme and melody
Captured by a jazzy rift
And slammed against a wall of rock
Enveloped by a wave of hip hop
The sand supporting this ocean is poetry
I have a passion for this sand
It’s the only way to build my musical castle
The only way to make a beat
Poetry is the only way the beach survives
