Grow Up

I can cry.

I know I can cry

But I haven’t let

It happen

In years.

I have emotions

And I feel things

Like birds fluttering

And pecking at my chest.

He makes me feel

Warm. He gives me

Emotions I put away

So I can be a man. So

I can be strong. Why should

I be strong

So others can

Keep beating me down. I want to

Cry. I want to grow up and

Throw fits and be

Okay with it.
