to grow

To grow is to adapt,

To grow is to learn.

To grow is to acknowledge self short comings,

and forgive yourself for mistakes. 

I look back at myself,

insecure, bitter, unaccepting,

and I must remember;

was does not equal is.

To grow is to make up for past selfishness,

to grow is to not hate others,

and to not hate oneself.
