Grow up Raven
“Grow up Raven, grow up!”
Gone were the days of childhood ambition
Drowned in the sea along with sweet mariner
The eyes of hope blackened by the night sky swallowing up my Infiniti home
”Grow up Raven, grow up!”
”I want to be a singer,” that’s comical
How about, “We need to eat?”
How about, “We need money?”
How about, “We need a home?”
”Grow up Raven, grow up!”
Cement blocks sheath those pesky emotions
You’re not sad...you’re not hungry
You’re not
You’re not
You are a selfless shell only thinking of the needs of all not the wants of one
Because triumph of many over happiness of one right?
”Grow up Raven, grow up!”
Find solace in staring at the blue jays before they disappear into the cerulean sky
Watch as they fly and you stay grounded in your “home”
Constantly driving around as to not get towed for trying to live under some kind of roof
Homelessness begets selflessness
Homelessness begets responsibility
Homelessness begets my early adulthood
My childhood snatched faster than time in life
Thankful...
Or not?
”Have you grown up Raven?”
”Have you?”
