Growing Up

Things used to be so simple Not a care to give Now things are changing I'm learning how to live Going to school only five days a week I was always very shy, didn't really speak High School flew by, I couldn't wait to leave I just wanted my diploma, it's all I wanted to receive The day I got my cap and gown I could not deny My life was moving forward, I couldn't help but cry Graduation Day came, left in a blink of an eye It was the perfect night, not a cloud in the sky I hugged my mom tightly as tears rolled down her cheeks She was shaking and her voice became real weak She told me "I love you darling, I'm so proud of you" I could tell from her voice, that what she said was true It was time to cherish the last of my time with my friends as summer came to a haul The next chapter for me, begins in the fall
