Growing Up

I guess this is growing up,

Taking hard courses and making life choices.

I guess that is growing up.

Learning how to be responsible and eating all the right foods.

I guess this is growing up.

Having more decisions to make and being put into stressful situations,

I guess this is growing up.

Gaining confidence in yourself and other spiritual endeavors.

I guess this is growing up

Having so much going on that you can’t think straight.

I guess this is growing up.

But this can’t be what It means to grow up.

I was put on this earth with a purpose and I won’t stop till I flourish.

I know I am here to make a difference and that is more than an inference.

In my mind, growing up is having the courage to do what you are here for

To make yourself fulfilled and help others. No matter what age.

Growing up has nothing to do with jobs or careers and how much things to remember.

It’s to learn how to be who you are meant to be.

It’s to embrace yourself and to make yourself happy.

To go to sleep at night in peace knowing that you are doing what you love

I may be just a teenager who thinks too much

But this is what I believe in my heart of hearts

So when I really feel I’ve grown up

I will be comfortable in my own skin,

Be confident in what I can do,

And step into anywhere in life with my best foot forward.

That’s what it means to be growing up
