Growing Up

It starts slow.

You don’t notice at first,

The list of things to do grows longer,

And time with friends and family shorter,

Study,

Get good grades,

Volunteer,

Get a job,

It’s okay, you think, as the skin under your eyes turns dark.

You only need to finish high school.

~it’s the beginning of the end
