Growing Up
What to feel, what to feel about
growing up
Don’t have a mother’s remedy
for this kind of sickness
What to do when you fall
but to get up by yourself
How to build a bed of stick and stones
without breaking your own bones
How do you fill this empty plate
when you crave a family dinner
Going to find a bedtime story
just to pick up your diary of sad tales
What to do when paper becomes your worth
and your words mean nothing
I want you to take me away
where growing means to find home
