Growing Up

Where did the time go?

How could this happen so quickly?

I didn’t think this day would be near,

The day I would start my career

High school is now gone,

Growing up is for me to look on

Going to college has been my motto,

To give my life a better tomorrow

Fun I will have along the way, but I must not forget

That acting responsible will have a positive pay

The responsible decisions I will make on my own

Will show at the end that I have finally grown

I like the "coming of age" theme prevalent in this poem. The rhymes and their lines are quite fluid. I am sure many readers will find this poem nostalgic from both ends of the spectrum -- the good times of High School and colllege, the bad times, and the times they will never be able to experience again. Well done.

7.75/10

I love how real you kept this, and how you realized just how precious time is and how it flys.
