Growing Up

The time we are given is short.

Feeling oppressed and rejected is not the way to stay.

Yet for a time I was.

Living in fear of many things.

Yet coming out of my shell,

I find a new inviting world.

A place to grow and make changes.

So as not to stay afraid,

I launched myself into art.

An art you can see yet has no color.

An art that moves you yet has no beat.

An art that allows me to open,

To feel free and relieved.

To be who I have always wanted to be

Me.
