Growing Up

There are no words to describe how it feels

With the rest of the world right at our heels.

The time has felt so long

Yet that’s wrong.

Life is so short and we’ve only got a drop in the bucket.

We look back on our childhood and tuck it

So close

So close.

The memories we make

The advice we take.

Who knew at nine months would be so short

Time just seems to distort.

But now is the time to reflect on our past

Make this moment last

Give it our all

Maybe even see each other this fall.

Listen up young ones

Don’t take your life for granted

Hold your friends close

And your loved ones closer.

Because you never know how long you will have the memory

Hug your mom

Tell her you love her

Because it’s only a short time until you’re

Growing up.
