Growing Up

Looking back on my life as a new high school graduate, I realize the moment of becoming an "adult" is now. How I yearned for so many years to be an adult and live on my own. No parents, no worries, nobody forcing you to do chores, or punishing you for staying out late, nobody at all telling me what to do. Finally, freedom is what I've wanted all these years. Now I look back on this perspective and how I would do anything to be a kid again. Everything I do every choice I make affects me and only me. I have to pay my own bills, pay for college, go to work everyday, feed myself, clean up after myself. Everything is all on me. Sometimes I just wish I could be that little kid again and when I'm scared I can go to my mommy and she'll make everything better. But that's the price you pay for growing up. Truly with great power comes great responsibility.
