Growing Up

I fell down and looked around,

Looking for a reassuring hand.

To reach out and guide me,

But that was not in the plan.

See life has her ways,

Each journey is quite a maze.

You’ll never see it coming,

Because you’re blinded by the rays.

Each day new battles,

Seems like you just can’t have your way.

Everyone is separating,

Because ones path is not the same.

I brushed myself off,

And stood tall like a mountain.

Nothing but happy thoughts,

As I keep taking opportunities from the fountain.

I am not a kid anymore,

I'm in my late adolescent stage.

Every trial and tribulation,

Will not end the same

I am not a kid anymore,

I am of an adult age.

I pick myself up,

To carry on to the next day.
