Growing Up

Growing up isn’t easy,

It means adjusting to life,

Adjusting to responsibilities,

But everyone goes through it,

How you handle it depends on how determined you are

I remember being a kid and fearing adulthood,

But now that it’s closer than ever,

I’m actually excited,

Just the thought of learning and being independent,

This doesn’t mean I’ll forget what got me where I am,

I’ll always be here for my family,

After all they’re the reason I was able to grow up so fearlessly,

Just knowing that they will always be by my side comforts me,

Events in your life can cause this change,

They can make you mature,

Learn that it’s time to grow,

Mine was when my dad passed,

I remember him telling me to not give up on my goals,

To continue doing good in school,

His words helped me realize I’m not a kid anymore,

That I have to start thinking about my future,

So I did, just that

I am most excited for accomplishing my goals,

Graduating college,

Becoming a surgeon,

And being able to help my mom financially,

All the work I have done,

I dedicate to my family
