growing up

Take me back

for there is something that I lack

take me back to the time

where everything was fine

where lying and crying didn't exist

where the hardest part of the day was learning your spelling list

take me back to those carefree days

where the only place you felt lost was in a maze

let me have worries no more

take me back to the time where every person I did adore

where everything we did we did with ease

where we did whatever we pleased

please

just take me back once more

so I can breath it all into my core

so I could appreciate the blessings around me

its harder than I thought, being a teen

if only as a child I could've seen

how great my life truly was

runnung and playing in all that dandelion fuzz

i wished I would have realized that my childhood wouldn't last

shouldnt have wanted to grow up so fast
