Growing up is Awareness

Life was hard growing up.

Especially due to the fright of vegetables.

Green leafy trees too bloody tomatoes.

In finally growing up

I realized there were more frights in this world

Then the vegetables my mom was forcing me to eat.

Growing up was facing the challenges in this world

And not only in my own life.

Soldiers are dying, people are starving, and some don’t have a home.

My real “Glow up” was finding how to help.

Growing up in a low-income household surrounded by others

Going through a similar difficulty

I stepped my foot out that door

To make a difference in shelters and throughout the world.

This set me up for a future in helping others.

I close my eyes and I see better days

Not only for myself but for all.
