Growing pains

There will come a day

There will come a day
When you will go away

And I will understand
What it's like to lose a friend

Holding on to what's been gone
Won't you say it's been too long

Lie to me, cry with me, tell me you're sorry
Like the friend you always claimed to be

I'm stupid, it's my fault, it's always been me
Everything you want me to believe

I'm done with the heartaches
All the silly little mistakes

One day a friend I hope to gain
Because real friends don't cause pain

You can leave if you want to
This time, no ones stopping you

There will come a day where I won't care
maybe then you'll remember the times we shared

Until that time it is goodbye and farewell
Goodbye to the stories I will never tell
