Growing Pains

Dear _________,

The skies tonight are clear but my mind tonight is a storm.

Sobs easily mistaken for earthquakes shake my body.

Rain so thick it blocks rational thought but fails to maskthe anxiety that refuses to cease.

Tsunamis leak from my eyes.

And as my skin splits like a fault line and leaks red-hot lava,

All I can wonder is when my heart will see sunshine once more,

And the storm will finally come to an end.

With love,

A.
