Growing Pains

warm sunny mornings to cruel endless nights:

a sleepless zombie,

living in someone else’s body.

joyful tears to pessimistic sobs:

wandering among photo albums,

Imposter.

sunny and shiny,

dolls and dress up,

golden smiles.

dull and matte,

pills and insomnia,

grim grimace.

recovery and new beginnings:

joyous feeling of youth restored,

inconsolable to optimistic.

two monsters underneath my bed -

i have confronted.

power to reclaim.

childhood memories to new age adventures:

each day golden,

i’m alive.
