Growing Pains

How should one measure growth

by the notches on your door frame

by the grays upon your head

or perhaps, by the lives you’ve touched

by the tears you’ve shed

by the sadness you’ve fought

perhaps, no-one can truly measure growth

for how shall we measure it

by what is see or unseen
