Growing Pains

She used to look at her wrists and think growing was too much.

She didn't want to feel pain,

or disappointment.

She didn't feel young or happy,

She didn't feel loved,

She didn't feel accomplished.

The growing pains almost stopped her.

But now she looks at her scarred wrists and is reminded of what she has.

Friends that make her feel young,

Family that makes her feel loved,

Mentors that help her succeed.

People that grew with pain as she did,

People that want her to be here tomorrow.
