A Growing Plant
I am a seed
I am in much need
I have not a home
No option but to roam
But I see a needed opportunity
A shelter; that's my gratuity
I am a stem up to the surface
It's starting to give me a purpose
I've walked this street a dozen
But this time comes my cousin
"I've got a job for you to cover"
Could this be my recover?
A work to start, a work to finish
Looks like this poverty will diminish
I am a shrub, I will uncover
But I feel that I still need a lover
To fill the void in my soul
I know it may sound a little droll
What's that noise that I can't help but hear
It's that beautiful lady; I've found my dear
I am a sapling; a young little thing
A few more things I need you to bring
What's next I feel is a laugh so shrill
I want it so bad I feel I would kill
My dear is running excited and all
I hear the words "she'll be here by fall"
I am so grown, so tall, an oak
I have just gone and put on my cloak
The priest comes near, he drops the book
I open it up and no more feel forsook
Everything I've wanted I've gotten and more
I thought this would be such an unwanted chore
The final piece is no more such a mystery
I know that his workings make wonderful history
He found me and sent me my ever great need
I am a tree of a godly made breed.
