Growing Seed

I was blessed

Being born

The wreath of my mother

powerful

Waking up knowing my mother

A warrior

Fighting through battles of hardships

Ones unknown

Showing me the way

To my confidence

My strength

To show

Kindness and courage

The seed growing

Finding the path to excellence

In the palm of thy hands

The confidence

Increasing

My Heart racing

The smile She gives knowing

I am a child of Her Creation

The day I set forth on earth

I was taught to be me

Strong

Independent

Unique

Have the strength of a bull

Sweet as candy

A leader

One who would put her face forward

Never discriminate

Or discourage

A girl knowing she’s equal to men

I put my fists to the test

Jabbing

Kicking at the bag

As if they were my insecurities

That bring me down

Without my mother

I would’ve never learned

Never to backdown

Never to double guess

But to do my best

To show the world what I will become
