Growing Thoughts

The idea of you grows in my mind

Like the way ivy grows on a wall-

It consumes every brick of thought

And refuses to fall.

Ivy is beautiful

As is the idea of you,

But ivy is dangerous and demolishes everything in its path

This is painfully true.

But I am a lover of beauty,

So I will let you grow.

For this is the only way

That I can let my love for you show.

Your extended metaphor is lovely; however, be careful of cliches in poetry. Nice work you have created. Q.V.
