Growing Up too Fast.
When I had to take care of my brother at 10,
I knew I had grown up too fast.
When I was forced to look after my own kin,
I knew I had grown up too fast.
When I had to salvage for my next meal,
I knew I had grown up too fast.
When I gave up my morals; to lie cheat and steal,
I knew I had grown up too fast.
When I decided to throw my brother and me into foster care,
I knew I had grown up too fast.
When I was made to go to a therapist to share,
I knew I had grown up too fast.
But when I was taken in,
told than I could; that I can,
when I was allowed to be a be a kid,
is when I became a man.
