Growing up without Parents
Three years old.
That’s when it began.
A life with out a mother.
She had left my dad.
I was born in Miami.
A city known for it’s thugs.
Little did I know.
My Dad was hooked on drugs.
Grandma, Great Grandma, Uncle, and Dad.
Katrina.Wilma.
The two Hurricanes had hit.
Central Florida.
Our new home.
New schools, new friends.
Or so I thought.
Bullies, times outs.
That’s all it was.
Sebring, Wachula.
Dad and I moved a lot.
Train, Bus.
We visited Miami.
Back to Sebring.
March.
Eighth Birthday.
Mom visited.
Little sister and one on the way.
How exciting.
Late night in the car.
Wake up.
Shining light.
Dad got arrested that night.
School was rough.
I will not lie.
Growing up with out parents.
I get jealous a lot.
My Grandma is my Guardian.
I love her so much.
We’ve had our arguments and such.
I wouldn’t be the young Lady that I am today.
If my parents were still together.
Teaching me their ways.
