Growing Young

Monumental ideas

This childish mind drowning in solutions

It is encouraged at first

But its days are close to an end

Outgrowing the trips to the fair

Still believing in my childish aspirations

I am introduced to a new faire

Hoping that my dreams will be accepted

"This is not practical"

And so it retreats

Feeling the pressures to provide

The only option is to be laissez

As the days blend

But the world moves ahead

My neglected childish dreams want to contend

Desperate to take the rules and bend

Unleashed to fulfill its dreams

Caution to the jet stream

Where will it take me?

The world may soon see
