Grown Up

Grown Up

By Joshua S. Hoffman

Take you back elementary i was a young’in/four square king Smashmouth i be humm’in/tapped the pencil on the desk non-stop drumm’in/turn on the Gamecube Ssx Tricky thumb’in/hot for teacher nice to meet you I haven’t hit puberty/told my buddies at the lunch table you just wait and see/I'm'a make Ms. P my wife/live a very happy life/momma leave the door open a crack I need a little light/to protect me from the man they call boogey/my big brother always gave me the most lethal noogies/Digimon creatures/undeveloped features/soccer or volleyball papa in the bleachers/trying to avoid being just another brick/staring at the clock counting down every tick/kids said be an athlete or a musician take your pick/I said I can be both, suck my dick

im'a kick it sentimental/used to cover all the rentals/now I bag food for the moms being good parentals/a little mental, but hey, what else is new?/blame it on the toxins in the markers that the teachers use/on my Nike shoes always rock the green laces/found out which were loyal friends and which were two faced/always call it how i see it/me and the administration always disagreeing/Saturday detention six hours till I’m free and/the only way to prove 'em wrong is to earn a degree and/soon as u know it im'a be up in the Northeast/can’t tell you how much I look forward to the last feast/youth disappeared like a rabbit man to say the least/all my past blunders buried time to rest in peace
