Grown-ish

My big girl boots are still a size too big

and often my arms still resemble a twig.

but I cant help but see

the difference in me

from what I used to be,

noticing how the world has changed

and how people have rearranged,

where innocent eyes once glanced

now fears and worries dance

I see a purpose and a plan

though many claim we don’t understand

and though many may not see

i can see the difference in me.
